Pat is officially a college graduate! His diploma for his Associate’s degree in Industrial Water Treatment from San Juan College arrived today.
Way to go!
This family day was a trip to a hobbyist Lego Convention to see the fantastic creations people have built out of Legos.
We saw a scale model Lego Titanic, a probability machine, various Star Wars vehicles, houses and trains, and this Lego Taj Mahal.
And every day is SunDay
After 10 years at WaferTech, Pat has accepted a position as a Senior Facilities Technician with SolarWorld in Hillsboro, OR. The new position will be Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights 12 hour shifts but have the opportunity to move to a M-F 8 hour day or graveyard shift later. He will be commuting while we get our house ready to sell or rent. We will be looking to move to Hillsboro in the summer after the kids finish school.
SolarWorld is bringing an old plant back online and then expanding the facility and with the emphasis on renewable energy in the coming years will no doubt be a healthy part of the economy. We are looking forward to choosing a house and neighborhood as a family.
In June when we went to see Kung Fu Panda, a martial arts school was there doing a drawing so we entered the kids. Turns out Noah one a free introductory package. It took us until September to connect with the right at the school with all of their summer plans.
He got a free uniform, two free private lessons and a free month of membership. At his second lesson, he had to earn his white belt by breaking a wooden board (among other things like saying the school pledge). He was able to break the board on his second attempt. I think he had been somewhat skeptical that he would be able to do it at all.
